Hey...real quickly...
If I were looking for a black leather two/three pen case...what would you recommend? What are you using? Pictures? Reviews? Reasons?
I'm looking for something for Christmas for my wife so that she can carry them in her purse safely.
Pens she'll be carrying include a Sheaffer No-Nonsense, and a Lamy Baby Blue Safari. Not terribly expensive, but still, more spendy than any other pens she might carry...
Lamy? Libelle? Others?
And no, don't suggest the Venlo case...

I purchased this 4-pen case from Levenger recently:
Pen ParapetPrice isn't too bad... $34. (And it comes already gift-boxed wrapped in a nice cloth/box with rubber closure.) I believe it can also be monogrammed for a bit more.
My thoughts- 1) it holds my pens fairly decently. I recently picked up a Visconti Travelling ink-pot (hopefully won't regret the purchase)- and the Visconti is a bit large in diamater for the Parapet- so if you have one of those, you'll know the max size of one of the pens. 2) It does not *completely* protect the pens. Since the top is a fold-over flap, the pens will stay put (unless flung), but keys etc., *could* scratch the pens which are on each end-position. 3) It won't prevent against crushing forces. 4) it's possible the clips *might* touch- causing some scratches. BUT- I have never experienced this. So far I'm really loving being able to carry around a number of my pens. I have my 51 with me, a Koh-i-noor clutch pencil with highlighter-lead, my m150 for a broader point, and my Visconti travelling pot. So, I have most of my bases covered. [I even snuck in a graphite lead for my Koh-i-noor in a corner... so I can change out to sketch if I want, or write in pencil.]
All in all, I'm happy with the purchase, but there is likely a better solution for a similar amount of money. The leather is quite nice, however.
Again- in a purse- I'm not sure... perhaps if she had a pocket which she could place it in.... but with loose stuff around, at least 2 of those pens are gonna get scratched.
Hope this helps!

I've just bought the 12-pen leather case from Cathedral Pens here in the UK. Excellent value at £25.
For carrying my pens outside my office (I work from home) I use a pelikan 3-pen case -- beautiful but expensive at £30.
I see on the Cathedral Pens site they now have a 2-pen zippered case for £11.55. That may well be my next purchase!!

I use a Lamy two-pen case. It's great for my needs, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for the combination of pens that your wife is carrying.
I've tried to put my Lamy Al-Star in there, and it's a very tight fit. More often than not, I pull the cap off the pen rather than pulling the pen out of the case.
It works like a champ with anything smaller, though.

hi,
i use a libelle 5 pen leather wrap which has a cloth lining so that metal furniture does not tarnish. they hold my big visconti. my big sheaffer balance too. the wrap is sold by swisher, bertram's inkwell, fph in nyc, all at below list price which is $40.00. check it out!!
i also use elizabeth wilde's pen wraps which are gorgeous. she's a member of this board so you can get her e mail. she makes the wraps out of the most gorgeous fabrics. she makes 6 and 9 pen wraps and big pens fit into them

I have a nice Namiki three pen case that I really like. Though, I must admit to generally carrying 4 pens in it......like the picture below. <G>
You can see in the picture that it has a place for business cards and a flap pocket that I haven't figured out. Also it has slots behind the visible leather for thin items as well. Currently, I have a blotter and a travelers thing of amodex in it.
I think I paid about $65 for the case. It is leather, but has not damaged my pens in any way. It wouldn't hold really large pens very well, but does hold most of what I use.

I have a nice red leather Parker 2-pen case with flap cover that I got on Ebay a few months ago. It has "Parker" tastefully embossed on it and looks like an official Parker product. I tried my Lamy Safari and No Nonsense fountain pens in it and they fit well (the Safari clip has to be on the outside of the little "pouch" for the pen to fit). It's my only red case, so I love it

P.S. If you want to spend some more $$, I've heard good things about Piquadro pen cases (they look nice too)

could be. I've been using it to carry all those random receipts I always seem to need to keep. As for the 3x5's, I know what you mean. I was really hoping that they would fit where the blotter and such are in my case, but it is just a little too narrow for them.

I got mine from Maryanne and Steve Zucker at the NE Pen Show. Here's a pic from their website. This one in the picture is brown, but mine is black, made in Brazil:

Thanks for the responses, fellow inkers. I'm still somewhat undecided on these.
In a perfect world, I could buy a 2-pen version of the Libelle wrap. They make it, and Joon is currently giving them away with the purchase of a Spanish Eyes pen. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find them individually anywhere.
Anyone ever see one of these pop up anywhere?
BTW, wifey-dearest bought a Libelle wrap for me over the Thanksgiving weekend. Aside from smelling awful from the chemicals, I absolutely LOVE it!

Recently, I organised my daily user pens into 3 groups

(I like being systematic)
1. Smiggle Pen case. This is the
main army. For heavy duty study/writing

2. My little orange pencil case for moderate/light pen adventures

3. A denim Parker pen holster that can be attached to a belt. Great for when on the go

Thanks for your suggestions, but based on the cost basis, this Libelle turned out to be the right one for me.

I just got off the phone with world lux, they had bought all of those cases from namiki that were left as they are now discontinued. However, they still have about a dozen left, (after I bought mine), and the good news is that they are on sale for $45 with a free shipping upgrade. If you want one I suggest that you call soon.

isellpens ran out of those, and they are apparently discontinued

I recently found a 2-pen flap closing version at Tuesday Morning, but alas, no 4 pen version. I looked on eBay, and found the following case to drown my sorrows. It is not rigid, but rather soft leather, and very nice.
Click to view attachment Click to view attachmentI got it from ebay seller wkiffin (not affiliate), who now has a standalone web site mentioned here in Marketplace. Heinz is pleasant to deal with, very fair with his prices, and the quality of what I purchased is excellent. he also has larger and smaller cases, but what I can speak about personally is the 4 pen case, which I use to carry my Wality which is 7 inches posted, and nearly as big around as the Goodyear Blimp

I have a good selection of pen cases in various sizes (from 1-12 pen) but mainly used the 2-3 pen ones. Over the past few months I have started to use leather cigar cases (mostly the telescopic ones) ranging from 2-4 finger (or pen), they can accommodate most sizes of pen and can be picked up fairly cheaply on ebay.
Favourite is one I picked up last week, rigid so offers good protection leather covered and hs 4 individual fingers which can easily accommodate my biggest pens (I think my CS 100 & Duro and M800 are about the biggest/fattest I have and they fit well).

Well spotted. I bought a plastic one -oops- fuax leather one from eBay for twice this 10 days ago and I still haven't got it so I bought one of these. I have asked the seller if he will make them in 3 and 4 pen versions too. We can but hope. I bought one from eBay in the end, but I have mixed feelings about it.
On the plus side it is incredibly cheap. There are sellers selling plastic ones on eBay for twice the £3.80 I spent. It was certainly cheaper than the Pelikan at £32.

There is certainly plenty of leather in it, but the leather is very hard indeed and it has been treated with something that overwhelms the leather to take away the natural and wonderful smell.

Mine only takes fairly slim pens. As you can see it is a real squeeze to fit a Pelikan M200 into the case and the Pelikano Junior fits even less well.

In the above picure I have put a Pelikan M205 in one side and been unable to get a Pelikan M805 in the right hand slot. As the leather is so hard I have not really got the option of trying to stretch the leather by pushing something hard in there.
I am sure that this case will suit some of my slimmer pens such as my Sheaffers.
I have written to the seller and asked if he would consider changing the design to a box design, making the case bigger to carry 3 or 4 pens and bemoaning the hardness of the leather.

I am old fashioned, so I got a 3 pen leather pouch from Montblanc.. my 147 Fountain pen already comes with a case, so I use the pouch to carry my Starwalker Fineliner, MB rollerball and my OMAS Paragon Fountain pen. The pouch is quite sturdy and stiff so its actually quite good I should say. However, its kinda expensive, I got it for 75Euros.

My mother buys those spectacles that enlarge stuff - three to a pack - from Costco. I asked for one of the glasses cases, which is perfect for two pens.
It was free to me, but the Costo three-pack is something like $20. A single from the drug store is anywhere from $8 up to something like $30. Toss the glasses and voila.
Alas, they are plastic and not leather. But they're pretty. And if I crack one, I don't cry. The interior is plastic lined, so the pens are protected; so is my purse, from leakage.

I recently purchased a pen from Xezo via their eBay store, and it came with a nice leather two-pen flap case. It's large enough to hold my two biggest pens . . . a Taccia Doric and a Taccia Staccato (the Staccato is quite long, and the Doric is a regular club). Instead of having two 'fingers', it has a single large pouch with a small leather divider down the center to hold the pens apart. The leather seems thick enough to do the trick without being stiff. Here's a pic:

Looks like they have this for sale with a BIN price of $22.95 on eBay right now . . .

For my MB 145 I have bought a (to expensive) MB case. It feals really stiff and is a bit to fancy. Also the inside is like the outside, just leather. Besides that the case is good quallity.
The nicest one is the pelikan nappaleather black/ green one for 3 pens. It's filled with soft material with makes it a bit thick, feals really nice. Inside they have put soft material so the pens won't scratch or toutch eachother.
