Full Version: Balance II vs. Legacy II

I was just wondering how the Balance II measures up to the Legacy II (or for that matter contemporary Heritage Legacies) in terms of size and weight. The Heritage Legacy is such a fantastic pen for me size and weight wise, which I typically write with unposted. I'm guessing the Balance II will be lighter then any of the Legacies, but it is hard to tell from pictures how wide it is.

I've just purchased one of those NOS gold Legacy II's from luanne at ebay, I was thinking about picking up a black Balance II from her as well, but I'd like a little feedback before I bid.

Also, what do these NOS Balance II's typically go for? Meaning what is the max I should bid for it? laugh.gif

The auction ends in 6 hours! I must have your opinions by then! rolleyes.gif

Thanks!

The modern Balance is a light pen, but longer and slightly fatter than the Legacy II. The modern Balance is about 5.75 inches long whereas the Legacy II models that I have are about 5.375 inches long. The Legacy II is a heavy pen. I like both of them but I must admit I rarely use the modern Balance.

I paid in the mid thirties for my two modern Balance sets of FP and BP. I paid about $26 for a modern Balance FP in black. Shipping was additional for all. I think this is about the low end of the range. I've seen the modern Balance FP sell for generally $30-50 on Ebay. The original retail price was $99, I believe. These are the solid color modern Balance pens. There are other versions that sell for more.

I don't have the Legacy Heritage model, so I can't comment on it.

PS You can do a search of completed transactions for the seller to see what they've sold for recently. Also check the feedback section for older transactions.
