Dubbed Tac Carry I, many of you have asked how many types of these were made. I'll go ahead and post pics here from most rare to most common. They are all long sold out none of these are for sale. Just to answer popular question I got all the time.

This one is most rare: Matte Metalic Blue

Aluminum:

3rd is combination of above: Shape of #1 with material of #2. Sorry don't have a pic

Next is the Gun metal

Then blue lac

and black lac

That's all from Tac Carry I series. Hope this helps.

I didn't know there were other colors than black!

I feel like a true FPN insider for having managed to snag one of these on the Marketplace. laugh.gif

I've got three of the 5, so I guess now I'll have to look for the other 2 so I can complete the set. biggrin.gif

Looks to me like there are 6 different types, Kathy, so you have half of them so far tongue.gif

Thanks for the info, winedoc----much appreciated!
I am the happy owner of one of the blue lacque fountain pens and am very happy with it smile.gif

Just one question.....

Are there two different model names for these pens?
I thought the ones with the raised cap lip and more tapered barrels were called "Tactical" (or "Tactical Carry I" (Tac Carry I) and the pens with an non-raised cap lip and less-pronounced taper were referred to as Avant Garde (Avantgarde).... or is my memory faulty?

I think the official name of these pens is Avant-Garde. Tactical Carry is the nickname that FPNers gave to this series.

Hi Maja,

Glad you like the pen. They are all call "Avant Garde"... but I call them Tac Carry because of the article on Stylophile on these pens and weapons were shown with these pens and so some of you actually call them Tactical Carry. laugh.gif More catchy anyway.

Best,

Kev

Thanks for the reply, Kevin; I looked on the official Dantrio website, but the "Avant Garde" fountain pens were no longer on there (they were, a few months ago).

I did read the "Stylophiles Online" article (and drooled over Bill R's excellent photos) and saw the term "Tactical" used in the review (sounds a bit "tougher" than Avant Garde, eh? laugh.gif )
Whatever the name, they are very good pens and were an excellent value!
