I just splurged and got a personalized embosser and self-inking rubber stamp. They are shown here http://www.psaessentials.com/ I ordered them from a new stationery store in Baton Rouge called "The Queen Bee." Their prices were as good as anything on the internet. Anyway, I'm having fun - embossing and stamping anything that doesn't run from me. biggrin.gif

So how's the stationary store in Baton Rouge? I only knew of one that was fair to middlin on Sherwood Forest so a review would be great biggrin.gif

Haven't been over there post-K huh.gif but if there is a store that has some nice papers I might make the

Does it swivel so you can use it in either direction? I am looking for a single embosser to use on both stationery and envelopes. Most only work in one direction.

No, unfortunately the die does not reverse so that it can be used at the top or bottom of a page. I know these kinds of embossers used to be available, but I couldn't find any anywhere. Maybe the manufacturers think that - if reversible embossers aren't available - their customers will buy two. The embosser is $60. For $40 you can get a second die to snap in and out. I guess that would be alright, but I'd almost rather put another $20 with it and get a second embosser and avoid having to change dies. Because I know how it would be - no matter which die I needed, the other one would be in the embosser. angry.gif

Just as a FYI. I got a press embosser that the large circle could come out and be replaced ( looks like a notary seal). Unfortunately I didn't use it for a few years and when I tried again the backing material of the metal plate had compressed and would not work anymore.

Annoying more than anything but seems like there is a shelf life to that particular type of seal.

I don't know if they are any good, but I thought they could be fun to order from one day (when I have bought all the pens and nibs and ink that I want...)

If anyone has used them it would be interesting to know how they found their embossers.

Years ago I used to have an embosser with my address on it; but they are dangerous things. People just can't resist 'having a go'. I soon found my <*!*§5^> (fill in your own explitive) address everywhere. I was glad when I moved house and I could give it as a gift to the new owners.

This company is nearby so I will order from them if I cannot find my old one. Thank you so much for posting the link!
