Full Version: Sterling, mon amour...

Here's what I received yesterday, after a win last week on the Bay. I wanted a sterling for a while, but don't have a big wallet. I don't know why those little beauties are not more popular... but thanks to that, I got this one for a price lesser than 90% of modern pens.

It's a Wahl "All metal fountain pen", in sterling silver, with overlay feed, in "colonial" machine engraved pattern (last pic shows detail).

I think I got a decent deal on it. Had to clean re-sac and tweak the lever, which was a bit loose. Now it's working like new. The nib is a beautiful #4 with a good flex.

How much do you Wahlnuts think is a reasonable price for this one ? Just to know if I wasn't too enthusiastic ...

Denis, I think you did fine. If you had bought it in restored condition you might have paid from $155 to $215, So doing the work of repair/restore yourself saved you quite a bit. Even in the condition you bought it in you could have paid from $125 to $150, so your having paid $84 for it was what you could call a good buy. Not Sumgai, but a Goodgai.
