Does anyone know what this Waterman pen is?

It looks like it's from the 70's or 80s. Inside it had a squeeze filler that looks about like a Parker 51 Aerometric, but that could be a converter on a cartridge pen.

I saw a "Waterman C/F" listed that had a similar section taper and nib, but I thought the C/F had the distinctive inlaid nib. Maybe this is a later or cheaper version? Waterman's answer to a Parker 45?

I don't have the pen - I almost won it on ebay, but ended up with the matching pencil and no pen. I'd like to find a pen to go with it.

Thanks for any help!

IIRC, Thats a french made piece from the early/mid 80's. I couldn't for the life of me tell you what the model name is.

I've got one in parts around here somewhere. Think it needs a nib & something else. I can't remember. I must be getting old or something.

Thanks! That narrows it down. I'll look at the pencil when I get it, maybe find some clues there.

BTW, Dennis, you seem to pop in to answer almost every question I have... Not that I'm complaining, keep it up! smile.gif

Hi mmoncur,

The only similarity between that model and the CF is that some of the range from which it comes used the same cartridge. I have no idea what they were called but I have a feeling that they had a number rather than a name. They are very similar in appearance to one of the late Conway Stewart school pens, I have at least one of each of them in a drawer somewhere.

There were a series of pens using similar nibs to this one, I think in the 60's and perhaps going on for 6 or 7 years, the sad fact is that I can remember them from school but I can't remember which school so the date might be out a bit.

The series ranged from a steel nib school pen, sometimes with a white section through the slightly upmarket versions, like the one that you have that were sac squeezers but some of these were also cartridge fillers and on to one with a 14ct nib (I think) and gold plated cap, there may have been still more expensive versions but I never saw them.

Not a lot of help but the best I can do just now, cheers John

Thanks! I'll narrow it down eventually... probably when I spot one on eBay again.
