Hi!

Could you guys, Sheaffer connaisseurs, (once again) help me identify these Sheaffers? There's once again absolutely no need to go looking around in books e.a. and since I've only this picture available, just your first impression will do nicely!

I'm particularly interested in what models the fifth and sixth pen from the right could be. They look interesting... ^_^

Thanks!

Edit: meant the fifth and sixth from the right...

I think I am going to stop responding to any of your posts after seeing the salesman sample case filled with pens you just posted...
The case alone may very well be worth more than all the pens in it and there are some nice pens in the case..
I think the gold pens (5th and 6th from Right) are Lady Sheaffers, but it is hard to tell.
The gold capped teal colored ones appear to be a Sheaffer TD set.

Thanks for the tip about the case, Tom. It looks a bit roughed up, though... huh.gif

There's this guy quite near where I live who is selling his entire collection. Very straightforward: buy the case with all the pens or go about your (other) business. That's why I posted this topic, to help me decide. If he'd let me pick out the best pens, I would, but he won't... There's bound to be some damaged pens in there (about 16 of the other box, which contained 24, will be any good after thorough restoration) and I thank your very much for pointing out the case (that'll need cleaning, too, I guess) to me, because now I'm quite sure about buying this case, too... ^_^

Hi Hyper

I'm with Griz on these pens (5th & 6th from right) are some species of Lady Sheaffers but the picture isn't clear enough to be sure just what sort.

The case is a rarity in itself and in the right place worth a fair wad of Euros.

You say the guy is selling of his whole collection; PLEASE don't tell us that there is also a case of Parkers, a case ofWatermans, Pelikans etc or your part of the Netherlands will be absolutely heaving with half the membership of FPN with GPS systems tracking you down. There won't be room to move in 48hrs. biggrin.gif

Nice lot of pens to go with the ones that you posted a while ago, were they in the same case or another one?

Have fun with them,

Cheers, John

5&6: Lady Skripsets, cartridge-fillers I think...

#6 looks to me like a Lady Sheaffer Skripsert. #5 looks like the fountain pen that was paierd with the remainder clip ballpoints in the late 1960s and early 1970s but I've forgotten the name.

Well... Today I went to pick up this case. The person selling it turned out to be very amiable and the coffee flowed freely. The case is absolutely gorgeous... I will replace the cloth tomorrow because it has some waterstains that will not come out, but otherwise it's in great shape. Like the "vintage" look...

There are a lot of TD Imperials in this box, a snorkel and a couple of lever-fillers which I have yet to identify. Also included in the deal were a red transparant Pelikan M200 in mint condition, a Parker 21, a Parker 17 and an additional 23K electrogoldplated Imperial CT...

I wanted to take pictures, but before I knew what I had done, I'd disassembled half of the pens and taken the case apart, too... Sorry... ^_^

I would talk to somebody who restores textiles before I removed the cloth--especially if you are talking about the cloth with the Sheaffer logo on it.

Sometimes such improvements like relining reduce value. A pro can often remove stains and improve appearance of original cloth.

I definately would not replace the cloth with the Sheaffer logo on it... that is provinence of what the case was..... DO NOT touch that.... if you can find someone to clean it without harming the print, that is fine... if not leave it as is...
HyperCamper
Oops... Already relined it... Blasphemy!? blush.gif

I felt I had to. The original cloth was extremely fragile, especially in and around the waterstains, but I managed to remove it mostly intact. A part of it had disintegrated due to mould (?). The lining had partially disintegrated, too, and yellow dust was falling out from behind the cloth.

I will be very careful not to harm the original cloth and I will store it somewhere safe.

Tomorrow, I'll post pictures of what the result it. I tried to do the case justice. The logo has returned in exactly the same spot... smile.gif

As promised, here are some pictures... I hope I did the case justice... ^_^

I'm not 100% happy about the way the cloth looks. You might be able to see where I ironed it. I only noticed it this afternoon. But, there's more cloth to go round. smile.gif

By the way, I did not attach those speakers to the case...
