I was looking on ebay and came across this Frontier demonstrator. What surprises me more is that the seller only has about two lines of the pen's description, and literally a whole paragraph about shipping, payment etc. Is it just me or do these types of sellers also scare you? Here is the ebay link.. For some reason the link doesn't seem to be working but you can easily find the pen on ebay if you search for 'Parker Frontier Fountain Pen'.

The link no longer responds but I have seen similar auctions.

There is a recent thread about when not to bid on an E-bay pen that you might find interesting. Generally though I'd have to agree with you. When there is little description of a pen I tend to think the seller is either:

a. trying to hide something
b. does not know much about pens

Neither is very good and I would tend to stay away. For me that applies to non-pen items as well.

If you are interested in a frontier demonstrator and worried about the seller you might want to post on the marketplace asking about one. I doubt anyone here would sell you a bad pen. I don't have one or I'd offer it.

I'll take a guess and say that this is the pen mentioned. This auction is up in 8 hours though:

Frontier Demonstrator

There isn't much to the description but it is sufficient in this case I think:

This is a Parker Frontier fountain pen, with clear barrel and steel cap. It is new and unused. This pen takes either cartridge or converter. A great everyday pen. No reserve.

Kissing, you make a good point that there isn't much to say about the pen. They do mention the nib size in the title as well. It's a new clear demonstrator with an M nib.

I see what jay23 was saying about the long list of terms though.

Terms of sale: ******ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS**** I WILL SHIP OUTSIDE THE U.S. The international shipping cost is $40.00 for all items shipped at one time. CANADIAN BIDDERS: The cost is the same as any other foreign country. Also, be aware that I will not misrepresent the value of an item on the package or on a customs form, so do not ask me to do so. I cannot accept foreign currency or foreign drafts, foreign money orders, or foreign checks, or Paypal payments from foreign bidders. All payments must be in U.S. Dollars. For shipments within the U.S., winning bidder pays flat rate shipping, postage and insurance of $8.00. Value is based on final auction price. If you need special shipping arrangements, let me know before you bid. There is only one shipping charge no matter how many auctions you win, at the rates stated above, as long the auctions end within a 7-day period. If you plan to ask for combined shipping, you must pay for each auction within 7 days of the date it ends and ask me to hold your items until you complete bidding. I will hold items as long as you want, and as long as you are paying promptly for each auction when it ends. I intend to ship quickly on receipt of a money order or cashier's check; but regular and e-checks must clear first.  Payment is due within 7 days from the end of each auction to maintain high bidder status. U.S. bidders can pay with personal e-check, VISA or MasterCard through Paypal. All sales are final and binding on both of us, unless I unintentionally describe the item erroneously or you fail to meet all of these terms of sale. Sales tax will be assessed for intrastate sales. Since all items are insured, should the Post Office lose your item or damage it, I will furnish a receipt on request so that you can obtain a refund. Please note that I choose the shipping arrangements depending on the item and what is necessary to get it to you safely. It is a fixed charge, and may not or may not represent the actual postage amount. It is designed in such a way that it is an average of shipping costs; some may cost more, and others may cost less, but it is easier for me to use a flat rate. It benefits most buyers and it lets you know exactly what your cost is before you bid. This price is not negotiable after an auction is over, so if you don't agree, please do not bid. I will consider all reasonable requests for special shipping arrangements if requested in advance of your placing a bid on my auctions. I do not alter my terms of sale after an auction is over. Thanks for your interest.

Thats quite a bit for such a short description....

I went over to Ebay to look at it, only to find that the seller is sccsales, who was just the subject of discussion in, I think, the Writing Instrument forum. He's a dog, with around 97% feedback, and seemingly, per the negative feedback comments, not all that reliable.
I have seen Frontiers with similar barrels (colored and transparent? translucent?) listed on Ebay by other sellers, but not called demonstrators.

I found the thread on this seller in the Writing Instruments section and from what I read and the experience of other members this is not a good seller. $40 shipping come on give me a break. Thats more than what the pen is worth. Kissing you are right there isn't much to say about a Frontier but I guess compared to that whole paragraph of shipping and payment, the description just looks so insufficient, although the seller did get all the main points across.
