Full Version: How fine is the Namiki Falcon Fine?

I'm interested in hearing people's opinion on the Namiki Falcon, especially with a fine nib. I've read on this site that it's not that flexible. Is it a good writing pen? What is the line width of the fine nib. I'm toying with getting either a Pelikan M200 E or EF or a Namiki Falcon F. I like that the Namiki says it has a flexible nib.

Many thanks,

John

It's only really flexible if you modify it. I have an unmodified one and a Mottishaw flex, and the Mottishaw is a great pen. I rarely use the unmodified. A Pelikan 200 is a much better pen, IMO.

The Falcon's fine nib is properly fine, in my opinion--not a super needlepoint Asian fine and not a fat European "fine."

The Pelikan EF nibs do not have a good reputation out of the box, you'd do best to buy from Richard Binder and get one of his custom-ground EFs.
