I can't get the section out to get at the sac. Anyone have a clue as to how this is done with this pen?

Front section with brass button will rotate but does not unscrew or pull out easily from body of pen as I expected it to. blush.gif

I recently received a Speedball Auto-Feed and am also interested in any tips for removing the section for sac replacement. It looks like one could easily break something related to the ink feed mechanism if they attacked the repair without a bit of background knowledge.

I also have one of these and I hope someone knows the answer. The Auto-Feed is very useful if you're doing much work with Speedball pens!

OK, now there's four of us in the same boat. You'd think a section that turns so freely would pop right out, wouldn't you?
RichKen
Well the section does come out, it just doesn't "pop right" out as you would expect. Mine eventually worked itself out after applying some gentle heat and side to side and axial pressure. A firm hand was necessary. Once out, resac as usual. Reinstall with the same firm pressure and heat. It went back in easier than it came out. Once the section is out and you see how it is held in place (groove and bump) you can proceed with more confidence. The ink feed mechanism isn't as fragile or complex as it appears. Anyway, I didn't break mine thumbup.gif

Excellent news! Thank you for being the first brave one amongst us. I'd suspected something like that, but one hates to be the explorer of a possibly barrel-cracking frontier. unsure.gif

Thanks!

By the way -- what size sac did it take?

18 or 20 to the best of my memory. It is quite a big barrel.

Thanks again! It will be good to put mine back in service.

The hands in the position shown in your avatar is a good starting point. rolleyes.gif
