Do the pen manufacturers use us as a source of information, are they addicted to pens like us, do they know about FPN??

What's your views??

This board is way too small and we aren't exactly representing their avarage custumers. Look at the Parker forum. It's mainly about the 51. If anyone is taking an interest it's Hero. But I doubt that very much too.

I probably should have added to the poll....

'Yes, but only as a mild passing interest'

I strongly doubt that any representatives from pen companies visit here...Well, at least I haven't run into any

It's a bit of a shame though - the opinions and discussions opened in this forum is golden information for them...

Actually, the U.S. representative of Conway Stewart, Mary Burke, is the moderator of the Conway Stewart forum biggrin.gif We also have one or two distributors. Giovanni Abrate of Tryphon is the U.S. distributor of Columbus, Filcao, Platinum, and a couple of other Italian brands.

Jim Mamaloudes, PenHero distributes Sheaffer and Cross pens, and posts here often - actually runs the Sheaffer forun .. wink.gif, and the Cross one too...

Sorry - I misused the word "representative".

I meant the people who actually run the big pen companies. I'm well aware that we have members in our forum who are respectable "distributors" of the products, but I thought london was asking whether "Parker's market-research employees" visited here.

It made me think of things like the CEO of Sanford Parker or the Kingpin boss of Sheaffer fancying a browse at the internet's biggest public fountain pen forum to look for ideas rolleyes.gif The guys who actually run the company itself and make the big decisions such as what the next generations of designs will look like.

Then I thought - fat chance

Some pen companies don't even use their own pens in their offices huh.gif

I visited Sanford Australia last week, and had a look at the pen cup of the reception lady, expecting it to be filled with Parkers or Watermans...or even Paper Mate................I found "Reynolds Biro" and BICs   blink.gif

They don't even use their own ballpoints, even when they're a pen company laugh.gif
