I've been meaning to try the Levenger cards for ages - the cards you can get in the UK just aren't FP friendly at all. Imagine my surprise when to post a $14 pack of cards would have added nearly $28 to my bill.

Instead, I went to Staples and bought a ream of A4 160 gsm card which I know is beautifully FP friendly. Then I fired up MS Publisher and designed some templates to create index cards with cutting guides. Each A4 sheet will yield 3 cards, using a ruler, cutting mat and sharp knife.

Below you can see the two designs I created and printed.

Anyone with MS Publisher who'd like a copy of the templates, just PM or email me and I'll be glad to share.

A site I frequent, DIY Planner, has lots of templates in the usual sizes (8.5"x11", 8"x5.5", A4, A5, 5"x3", etc). The 5"x3" sizes are also sometimes called "hipster sizes."

Edit to add: Most of the templates are in pdf formats.

Yep, been there. Those templates are good, but they won't print multiple 3 x 5 cards onto A4 card stock. They'll print 3 x 5 pages onto 3 x 5 cards, which is great if you have FP friendly 3 x 5 cards, or A4 pages onto A4 sheets, which is great if you have REALLY big pockets!

I don't know when you last visited the site, I've just downloaded and printed the "4-up" pages of these onto regular 8.5"x11" 20lb paper from this page (the 5.0MB zip file). I think the "graphics version" allows you to customize the pages to your liking, but I've not tried it.

Edit to add: They advertise that the templates work with A4 paper too.

Had no idea they were doing that now. I'll check it out immediately!

I did check it out, and they're very nice. But they don't have cutting guides and on A4 at least they don't measure 3 x 5. Having said that, there are some very nice pages in there if you want to run your whole organiser on cards.
