Just wondering if anyone owns any of the scented inks and what they think about them.

I personally like to write with black or blue black inks. Who makes good quality scented inks that can be used in expensive pens?

Reviews will be great but words of advice will be appreciated just as much.

I just bought a bottle of PR Burgundy mist scented by Pendemonium. I bought it for my sister to write to her fiance, and I was hoping that the scent would give her gift that extra something special.

I am disappointed by the results. The ink is defiantly scented, but it smells artificial. I tested the ink to see if the scent would last, but it seems to dissipate in a few hours.

I just bought some J. Herbin scented inks and I have been delighted by the lavander and the rose scents - they don't smell at all "perfumy" or artificial; rather they seem quite natural to my admittedly unsophisticated nose.

Both inks were tested using a Platinum 3776 with a BB nib for grins and giggles.

The colors are quite nice as well. The Rose is a deep red, not garish, brighter than blood, but definitely not the red your seventh grade teacher used to mark your French homework laugh.gif It looks, well, rosey, like a petal from those beautiful bouquets at your local florist.

The scent? Magnificent! Authentic yet subtle. As I said, the rose scent does not seem perfumy or sickly sweet. In fact, if you closed your eyes, you might just think someone had placed a freshly-picked bloom right under your nose.

The rose scented ink is a real winner in my book!

The Blue is also a very nice color - not too purple (that's what their Violet is for), but more of a "true" blue (if there is such a thing). On my sample, the blue looked a little washed out and dried down a little dull, losing some of its vibrancy, but I think that may be due to the fact that the nib was not completely dry from cleaning when I dipped it.

The scent of the lavender is quite potent when in the bottle, but on the page, it virtually disappears and I could barely detect it, even when the paper was practically pressed against my nose. This could be due to the beginnings of a slight cold, but perhaps not - after all, I noticed the rose scent easily.

Both inks seemed to offer excellent shading characteristics that are commonly associated with J. Herbin inks.

Stay tuned for tests of the Orange/Amber and the Violet.

Pendemonium offers an ink scenting service. I have two bottles that I had them scent for me. My Sheaffer brown is woods scented and my Noodles Legal Lapis is Hyacinth scented.

I'm fonded on scented candles so it wasn't a big leap for me to try using scented innks. I prefer the option of having scent added to an ink I already know and love that switching brands to try an ink marketed as scented.

I had two inks scented by Pendemonium and just didn't like the smells they had. I have Montblancs spice scented ink which is a dark brown and okay in both smell and color. The only scented ink I've really loved is Herbin Rose Scented Opera. I've only tried it in cartridge form but it was a lovely shade of red and a delightful rose smell.

For what it's worth: I've scented my paper with both rosebuds and spices and had some good results.

Ok. After a quick look at the pendemonium website I hae found that they do ship worldwide.

I like their scenting service. Which scents are suited for that masculine touch. wink.gif

I really DISLIKED sick.gif the two scents I had added by Pendemonium. One was supposed to be orange the other strawberry and neither smelled like the fruit. There were both perfumy and not pleasant smells in my opinion. I LOVE doing business with Pendemonium but was completely disappointed with their scented inks.

You can buy scented ink at www.thewritingdesk.co.uk I've had excellent service there. I personally disliked the lavender Herbin ink as it smelt of cleaning fluid to me and was very runny for my pens.
