I just got in an Eversharp Fifth Avenue. Of course it need a new sac and vent tube. That done, I am debating if I should seal the section to the barrel or not. For those who are not familiar with the 5th Avenue, the hood section screws into the barrel.

OK all you expurts, let me know what the best method is. BTW - I am not selling this pen so it may be I want to seal the section if it is sold or traded to keep inquiring minds at bay.

I use Tryphon's Section Sealant on virtually all the pens I restore... it is a thick rosin that makes taking the section off a lot easier than sealing with shellac.... well worth it.
