Wow, that's quite a story. I would e-mail or call Chartpak, tell them what happened and ask if they could help you get just a body. You might be surprised by how helpful they can be.

Like Ryan said, I'd contact Chartpak. If they can't help for a reasonable cost, then you have a couple of options.
Look around on e-bay for 800s that have bad nibs or might need a little clean up and are low cost.
Ask on the various pen sales boards (The Market Place here, Pentraces Market Board a.k.a., the Green Board) and there may be someone who can help you with that.
