I just got in a bunch of J. Herbin scented inks. I haven't had the chance to write with them yet, but boy oh boy - I can't wait!
I ordered 4 different colors/scents - Orange/Amber, Lavander, Violet and Rose. The Rose ink looks beautiful and smells even better. I was really amazed by how good it smelled - I could almost feel the rose petal tickling my nose. It was that authentic. I'm already composing in my head the love letter I'll write to my wife, who has been a true goddess these past few weeks.
The Violet was subtle in smell, like a true violet, but it appeared from the smudge I made on the page to be a nice deep Violet color.
The Lavander also had a nice smell to it, and was a bit more pale than the Violet.
I haven't really had a chance to dig into the orange yet.
More to come!

Email sent on the bleu/parfum lavande /10 and the amber/parfum orange /41. Here's a
link to swatches of the colors. Just scroll down towards the bottom of the page.
Are these safe in any fountain pen? I wonder if any pen materials will absorb the scent so that it lingers indefinitely. Wouldn't it be odd to use Aurora Black following a fill of "lavande" and still smell that scent?

I haven't tested these yet, but according to a review found on the J. Herbin website, the scent dissipates after a few days, at least on paper. There was no mention in the review of any scent in the pen itself.
J. Herbin Scented Ink ReviewPlease note: This post is not an offer to sell the scented inks, and they are not listed for sale on my website. I just feel I need to make that clear in case any of the admins are wondering whether this post actually belongs in the marketplace.
Thanks!

Hi James,
If you do write that letter with the scented ink, be sure to include the word goddess....that word will mean more to her than any scent ever could!

Hmm.. I wonder if the scent would last long enough for overseas letters..

The green with apple scent is nice as well.
The scent seems to dissipate rather quickly though.
