These neglected variants of the 75, a bit bigger, with onyx jewels, and 75 sections are lovely writing pens.

I've accumulated all of the versions except the solid golds, although I could use a silver Grain d'Orge is anyone has a spare. I also have several of the Premier BPs - just couldn't resist!

They are Noir, Chinese Lacque, Cisele, Athenes and Gold Grain d'Orge from left to right.

You don't happen to have a silver Grain d'Orge by any chance.....?

Just picked up another interesting Premier tonight on Ebay - the seller seemed to think it was a rollerball missing the cap.

In fact it is a Premier Athenes desk pen with 4 different refills - a good thing as I believe they are no longer available. In any case, I can always convert it to a FP by swapping sections.

Congrats, I never heard about the Premier desk pen before ... I only do have an Athenes with some visible shop wear.

I marveled at theim in the 80s and got myself a discontinued onee in the 90s. They share a weak point with the 75s: they dry out when capped. So the Penman Sapphire was difficult to clean out ...

Hi Bill,

Saw that one last night and was thinking about bidding on it until I saw your bid. Would be nice to know if the base is also in that box, if so you got a deal. Parker did not make alot of them and they are some what rare. Here is a scan of the advertising for the premier in the single and double sets rollerball. The silver Premier you asked about is the only one I don't have at this time. I did pick up the ballpens in the GP and Athenes new.

Take Care, Parkercrazy

I don't think I got that lucky, Francis. You can see the imprint in the box over the refills for the base and I'm sure the seller would have mentioned it if it were there.

I'm planning to use it at work in my Parker 51 double base, and a friend is giving me a single Parker pen base from the 60s/70s that I haven't seen yet but it may be a better fit for the 75.

I like the Athenes pattern (as you know - that is yours in my picture) and just couldn't let this one pass by at a fairly reasonable price.

If the other base turns out to be right for a 75 (good chance given the period) I probably won't be able to resist converting this one into a FP - I think I received a regular 75 with a Premier section, but even if I didn't I have a spare 75 section and nib - picked up a really beat pen that looked like the guy had used it for a wheel chock in his driveway - but a pristine section and nib for $12 sure beats buying them separately.

Wow Bill

This is really nice.I love the Premier after all its a suped up Parker 75 and the 75 is my favorite as you know.

I would like to get a premier someday but I believe if I have the choice I will get a 75 over the Premier.
