I am a healthy lurker. Has anyone or can anyone do a review of this ink which has got my curiosity up? Permanent and waterproof, but what is most intriguing is it seems to have some interesting shading from the swatch (attached). Thanks to anyone who can help. - Michele

Welcome!

If you look at the top of this webpage, you'll see that FPN has a Search facility. Do notice the check button to select either posts older or newer than the last 30 days - by default it only searches recent posts, and so often gives you "false negatives"!

Anyway, the UK Eternals have in general a very poor reputation. Regretably Britannia is included in this - see here

I've noticed that most of the UKEs are out of stock at the Writing Desk: hopefully this means that Noodlers is reformulating them. Irritatingly, there are reasonably priced Noodlers permanent blues - but they are seller specific inks not available in the UK.

Thanks for the reply and education. Clearly I was having a "doh"moment. Why didn't I look there? I thought I had seen all the posts.

If Nathan hasn't heard the roar for brighter permanent blues by now, he is deaf. I am sure they are enroute.

I hope so. The problem with the blue waves is not the color, however (it is a nice turquoise) but the tendency to flow badly. You can fix it by diluting it 50/50 with waterman southseas blue, another turquosie, that gives also some brightness to the color.

It's easy to miss the search at the top of the page - and easier to mis-use it, because of that older/newer thing, if you don't know how it works.

And brighter permanent blues *are* available - in the US. Swishers sell Noodler/Swishmix "Aquamarine Contract Ink" whick looks terrific - but may or may not flow well in practice: I'm asking about it in Inky Thoughts, if you want to look there.

OK thanks for the clarification and post on aquamarine. Ideally I would like a permanent PR DC Supershow blue or Waterman Fl blue color that maintains the original's flow. If anyone can do it Nathan can. One time I asked him for a wine colored ink - this was before the explosion of colors he now has. He replied, "what would you like? A bordeaux, zinfandel, syrah, ...?" I had to laugh. - Michele

There is (I've read in other post) a permanent prussian blue to be sold in Germany. We'll see how teutonic it is wink.gif

I have the Aquamarine and it's a great all around ink. No flow problems here. Like many saturated inks, you don't want to let it dry out (not that it's any harder than others to get out). Bottom line: I like it a lot.
