I'm looking for more accesories for a friend birthday. He has 4 fountain pens. I'm sure he doesn't want more. I'm thinking of getting him stationary, or a desk pad, or 5 inks. I'm guessing stationary. Maybe a journal with refillable paper?

What about a nice wooden pen case for his desk? Or a pen easel (available from Levenger's)? I have one and I really like it (it's not perfect - some of my "oversize" pens don't fit it well).

A good desk lamp.

FPN notepads.

A wooden box to store his pens in.

A single- or double-pen leather case.

Ok, it's time to start caffeine again. I read this twice and both times I read "Pen Weasel"

What does your friend do with his pens? Is he closer to the user end or the collector end of the spectrum?

I'd suggest a rocker blotter if he's closer to the user end.

James was too modeset to suggest this, but why not a selection of inks from James' store? I think any of us would be glad to get a few bottles of Noodlers and Private Reserve.

Embossed note cards or a pen holder:

If it was me, I'd love to get a few pads of the excellent Triomphe paper from Clairefontaine. I'd also love to get a few of Richard Binder's pads--a set of the ones with the illustrations and a set of the blanks would make an extremely nice gift. Ink is a nice idea but it's also a really personal choice--my favorite is not necessarily someone else's. A pen case is a good thing to have, as is a fabric pen wrap to carry a few or a lot of pens. An ink mixing kit might be fun, with a few interesting colors to start out with.
