Hi all. Just curious. Inlaid? triumph type? What is the standard?

Thanks.

I went to Richard's site and read about his. Says triumph nib. Well, probably short one.

I could not find much on Jim's site or I am looking in the wrong place. Perhaps the nib in the Imperial II is close.

Someone has one that has a nib similiar to an Imperial I that is at Jim's site.

So, I am wondering if this was a franken pen or did sheaffer put different nibs on this pen.

So far as I know, Skripserts at the steel-nib level were fairly plain pens that came in a zillion colors, including transparent. Their nibs were ordinary open steels, the same kind that Sheaffer put into its cartridge school pens of that era. At the upper levels they came with Triumphs in either PdAg or 14K gold. These Triumph nibs are smaller than the ones used on the Snorkel. I don't have an Imperial II to compare against.

What I know about Sheaffer Skripsert pens wouldn't cover a Barbie sized postage stamp. But here's an ad from an eBay auction (no connection) which claims that there were, at the time the ad was printed, 5 colors and 7 point styles. Unfortunately, the ad doesn't list either the colors or the point styles. But so far from the very limited I've seen is that the Skripserts all have variations of the small Triumph nib.

Anyway, here's the the auction with the picture of the advertisement.

Maybe it'll help?
