I have a Skyline marked only WAHL on the GF clip and 14K nib. It has a "sterling"
cap barrel, a standard looking J-bar type pressure bar, different from the ones
usually seen. Otherwise, an ordinary Skyline. What do I have, history, rarity,
and value?? Condition is excellent. Can anyone direct me to a Skyline forum/
tutorial?? Maroon body and derby. Thanks in advance!!!!

Nice find.
Unusual in the sense that most Skylines are marked Eversharp.
I was told when I asked the same question, long time ago, that for Eversharp to maintain the trademark "Wahl" they had to use it from time to time.
As a less usual pen, it carries a it of premium. I would say 30-60% higher than the corresponding Eversharp Skyline (but dont quote me on this).
I am not sure of the exact time frame but I would guess 40s.

A Skyline with sterling barrel and cap? I'd love to see a photo!

I had a nice full size Moire with a Wahl marked clip and a small Wahl nib. I was told the same thing. I showed it at a show to six vintage collectors, four of whom recognized it, one of whom thought it was a parts pen.

I was given the same rationale that Antonios mentions, about keeping the Wahl name in circulation for trademark reasons.

It was worth in the $150-200 range, per Lynn Brant.
