Here's a sheet of brown inks, scanned and color corrected. The writing is done with a offset copperplate dip nib, rinsed and dried between different inks. The large strokes are done with a Q-tip.

The paper is Advantage brand ink jet paper 24 pound weight and 94 brightness.

The J. Herbin Cafe des Iles is from a cartridge.

Excellent comparison. THANKS!

Here's the same sample sheet after 10 minutes in cold water.

The black ink at the top is Noodler's Polar Black.

Thank you for all of these! I love the side-by-side comparisons.

Thanks for posting all of these reviews! They are extremely well done and very helpful! I especially like seeing the results of the water test!

Thanks for the scan (and all of the others). It's really good to be able to see different colours alongside each other like this.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the scans. Please let me know if my color correction software makes the inks you're familiar with appear accurately on your monitors.

Once I'm done with scans of the rest of my ink collection, who knows? Maybe actual ink reviews?

You can now find the brown ink scans here:

Sorry to remove them from FPN, but I'm way over my attachment limit.
