I recently came into a Parker 45 in the Grey Harlequin pattern. Unfortunately, the section that came with the body was green with a silver trim ring and steel F nib and not the black section they were originally sold with. I have a black section with gold trim and gold F nib, but the gold just doesn't look right on the pen. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement section that will be a match for what is supposed to be on the pen? Thank you very much.

eBay?

I'm not so sure about that. I doubt eBay would have spare fountain pen parts, though they do have fountain pens

I'm not sure if they'll have it there, but do try David Nishimura:

You should be able to get one directly from Parker... just contact the parts department... in fact they still carry gold nibs for the 45

Tom,
Thanks for the suggestion. Do you happen to have their contact info?

Contacting Parker directly <_< Why didn't I think of that. I'm so dumb

Parker45s were still produced until recently, so Parker should have those parts and be more than happy to sell them to you

If I needed repairs for my parker, would I just send it to them?

Hi Inkdesigner,
You may well have the solution to your problem at hand already, you have a black section, the trim ring/clutch ring is detachable and so the silver and gold coloured ones can be exchanged between your green section and the black.
The Harlequin in grey shield came with a black section with a silver coloured ring and a 14ct nib, I have one in front of me that is still in its box and this is as described above.
So if I have understood aright you can sort it from what you already have without any trouble.
If I have got the wrong end of the stick then I shall no doubt look a burke but then that is nothing new. Hope it helps ,John

One of the great things about the Parker 45 line of pens is that the parts are (for the most part) totally interchangeable. They're also much easier to get apart than, say, a Parker "51". Everything basically just screws together.
Good luck!

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I was unaware that all the different parts of a Parker 45 could be interchanged between pens. I successfully changed the trim ring. As soon as my 14K gold F nib that I had in another Parker 45 is dry, I will add that to the pen.

Give them a phone call first. You can find their contact details at:
http://www.parkerpen.com/en/transverse/contact_usIf you don't have your warranty papers/proof of purchase, it'll cost you some $. Also, there are quite a number of penmeisters who visit this forum who will fix pens for you at competitive prices. Some (no particular order) who I can think off the top of my head are Richard Binder, Dillon and DWL.
