I've searched, based on information I've found here, for a cover for the 9.75 x 7.5, 100-page marble composition notebook that many have mentioned buying at Target, Walmart, and Office Depot. The only thing I have been able to find is the following:

http://rusticedge.reachlocal.com/coupon/?s...serv=rusticedge

I'm not interested in this, but I posted it in case someone else might be interested.

I like the marble composition notebook because of the size and the cost, but I don't like the look or the feel of the cover (the feel is more important to me). At fifty cents or less, it's hard to beat the price. I use these mainly for work. It doesn't bother me to not write on both sides of the page, and often I glue things I print from the computer on the back. All of the ones I have used have been great with the fountain pens and inks I use. I have had some that make the ink look significantly lighter, but I can tolerate that more than feathering and bleeding. Can anyone give me some website links of covers that will fit the marble notebooks I have described?

I did find an At-a-Glance Planner Cover at Office Depot. The description said it was for 4.something x 8 planners. I made a 5.5 x 8 notebook using my Ibico binding system, and it fit perfectly. This is great for my personal use, but I would like to also have something for the marble notebooks.

Levenger has a nice leather one. They go on sale sometimes, especially when they get a batch dyed that doesn't match their other leather items. I got a red one quite cheaply that way.

Levenger's was mentioned in the post that inspired me to start my search. I looked all through Levenger's website, and I could not find one that stated it was 9.75 x 7.5. I also looked all through Mead's website without success. Mead seemed like a good choice because they make a 9.75 x 7.5 notebook and a variety of journal/planner covers. I also emailed Mead to ask, but no one responded to my email. Do you have a url address that I can link to find the Levenger's cover?

Let's see if this works...

Notabilia Notebook With Leather Cover

8¼"W x ¾"D x 10½"H
It fits the marble notebooks for sure...

$74 but it comes with the notebook... blink.gif

There's also this:

Stanley Desk Journal

6"W x ½"D x 8½"H perhaps a bit too small...

$58 also comes w/ a notebook...

Hope this helps...

Perfect. Thank you. I've added this to my favorite sites, and I'll be on the lookout for sales. I'll have to drop hints for my birthday or Christmas.

If anyone knows of other covers available, I'd also like to check out other options.

I have the Stanley and the Notabilia--the Stanley is too small for the marble cover notebooks, but the Notabilia is the right size.

Is the red a bright red or a darker red? The one I saw on their website looked like a bright red.

Mine is bright red, but it's not the same bright red as their other things (which I know because I have a bad Levenger habit--I have a red wallet from them, a red "International Pocket Briefcase," and a red loose leaf paper clipboard thingy that I love).

If you have acces to a sewing machine get some light leather fron the leatherfactory and sew up your own. I have made covers for my moleskine as well as a blueline daily quotidien with very little trouble at all.

I've considered buying leather and sewing one. I've also considered buying fabric to sew. In my search locally I have not found a source of leather. I checked with a friend who is knowledgeable and active in arts and crafts for sources, and this person has offered to make one for me out of fabric. I've also emailed Mead again. I plan to phone them if I don't receive a response. I've found several things I like during this search that I have purchased and/or plan to purchase, and I hope to find more. I appreciate all of the comments and help. The search has been fun and productive.

Mead emailed me informing me that they do not sell a cover for the 9.75 X 7.5. I find that odd when I look at all of the other things they offer. I use the 9.75 X 7.5 at work, and I buy them for fifty cents at Target when they have them on sale for back to school. I would purchase a Levenger cover if I used them for my personal use (and I may decide to try it), but I usually go the cheap route for work. I have purchased five At-a-Glance planner covers since I began this search. I have two black 9 X 11, one red 9 X 11, one black 8 X 5.5, and one red 8 X 5.5. I save the cardboard from old three ring binders, and I cut them to place in these covers to give extra support. For work I'm using one 9 X 11 to hold the ten-cent composition notebooks I buy at Target. These are zippered covers and I can carry a 9.75 X 7.5 notebook in it, too. This is great because I can carry both notebooks I use for work. For personal use, I have made notebooks for the other covers. Thanks again for the help.

I had planned to purchase a cover from Levenger. I didn't really like the colors that were on sale, and when I finally decided to try one anyway, they were not on sale.

Yesterday I purchased a Franklin Covey refillable journal for $40 at Office Depot. The 9.75 X 7.5 notebook fits in it, and it works fine.

Interesting....

I almost bought the Notablia the other day. I did not see the notebook refills so I called Levenger. The representitive I talked to said they didn't carry the notebooks any more but today I see them listed online.

I've read the thread about the recent change in the Levenger paper quality. Are there any composition notebooks that work well with FPs? Id like to get that cover but its no use if I can only use it with cheap paper. Are the Levenger notebooks better than the legal pads?

head over the Renaissance Art and have them make one for you. Cheaper than Levenger and the leather is gorgeous. Have them put a pen loop in it too. www.renaissanceart.com

The cheap marbled composition notebooks that you can find at Walmart and other similar stores work fine for me. They don't feather or bleed with the pens and inks I use. I find that the ink dries quickly and does not smear. If I use dark inks I don't write on both sides. I've been using Noodler's Tiananmen, and I am able to write on both sides. I'm sure there are better notebooks and paper, but I don't have any problems with these.
