I now have a Waterman 352, fine flex 14K nib.

I am still trying to find out more about it. It was made in the USA. Ind is in good shape. Only a little discoloration on the metal on the top of the cap.

If anyone knows anything more about this I would love to hear it.

Here is a bad picture from the ebay auction. I will take some better ones and post them soon.

Tell us what waterman fountain pens you own....

I have:

a dark red and black marble Laureat fountain pen with a Fine nib;
a dark green marble Laureat ballpoint; and
a red and black rollerball Laureat.

The fountain pen received some expert attention from Rick Propas and it's one of my best writers -- in addition to which, of course, it's Waterman-gorgeous.
I use the ballpoint for entering check info into my check register and for balancing my checkbook because my fountain pens bleed through.
And sadly, I'm going to sell the rollerball simply because I never use it. I have a Parker 75 rollerball in sterling silver cisele and gold trim, and if I need or want to use a rollerball (which, of course, is extremely infrequent), that's my first choice. As beautiful as the Waterman is, the Parker has it beat in the pulchritude department by a considerable margin, In My Humble Opinion.

I am very fond of my Watermans and it seems to me (admittedly a novice to this hobby) that Watermans may be somewhat underrated and underappreciated.

I have just joined the FPN today and it seems like a good place.

A strange skinny Waterman with a gold medium nib and a funky corrugated finger rest.

I have a green skinny Waterman as above but I don't know what it's called. Any ideas? I've just bought a Waterman Carene, marine amber, but I'm not allowed to use it until my birthday.

Might be a Laureat. i have two: a blue marbled and a green marbled (both bought on FPN). They have a ridged finger rest, and a black band in the middle and at the bottom. I think there were a couple of variations.

A Hemisphere and an Expert II. Both are very nice pens, but I'm only using the latter as the first is a little too thin and short to suit my huge strangler's hands. (I'm a bit annoyed at this, as the metallic burgundy finish on the Hemisphere looks a lot better than the matt black finish on the Expert II. I'm also astonished at how fat a line the medium nib on the Expert lays: I'd have sworn this was a bold, looking at it.)
I rather fancy getting a few more.

Just two, an Expert II and a Phileas. The Expert I got off Ebay for $5.00. roflmho.gif The seller did not know what it was! Came with box.
PMS

Ha... maybe that's an issue with Experts. I have only one Waterman, a black Expert II. I found it at an Office Depot that had put it on their clearance shelf. The price wasn't marked, but the clearance shelf had a sign that said everything was at least 50% off; so I figured it would be a good deal. When the clerk rang it up, the price was $0.01! yikes.gif I actually asked the clerk to double-check that price, but she said that's what it was in the system, and there was nothing she could do. OK, fine, said I. 99.99% off is "at least 50%"...

I wasn't even shopping for a fountain pen at the time. smile.gif
Rainwalker
One Waterman Phileas, blue marbled finish with M nib. Came in a kit with 5 cartridges, 1 converter, 1 cleaning cloth, 2 blotters, and one bottle of black Waterman ink. Purchased at OfficeMax.

An amazing, silky-smooth writer!

Phileas - black medium
Kultur - blue fine
Carene - Royal blue - medium (one of my favorite pens!).

Hi,

Never really thought much about Watermans, have had a Black Charleston (with CT) for a couple of years which is a great writer, a Blue Kultur 'demo' and a vintage L/F (no idea what model) and a slightly battered 100 Year pencil in Red always fancied a Carene but couldn't bring myself to part with £100 or so for one (sorry for that sort of money I can buy another Pelikan).

Anyway picked up a Carene very cheaply on ebay and it writes as well as people say, can't say I will rush out and buy lots more, but maybe if a couple more come up cheaply I might be tempted.

My mum donated me my first waterman, and I still haven't identified it.

Since then (last year, I've bought a Carene deluxe prussian blue and an exception slim reg - oh jesus it really opened my eyes. What a fantastic writer I've got. Not sure if it was luck tha I got such a good one....so a week ago I bought another in black mmuuhaaahaa! I can't stop.
Next on the hit list is a Van Gogh Maxi tortoise - en route from the states, but I do really love the square section of the Exception because it forces you to hld the pen in a VERY consistent fashion and this seems to allow the nib to customise to our exact positioning over time with a great degree of reliability. When compared to writing with my lovely Carene - there is just no comparison.

Unfortunately, only one. But it's a Waterman Carene Royal Violet with a 0.5 binderized cursive italic nib. And do I ever love it thumbup.gif
