Yesterday, I was looking at one of my 51 vac fillers and replacing the whole filler(an all metal one, which works better than the standard one). When I came across the stamping of "Parker "51" Made in USA" Instead of what it should be, it reads
PAPARker 551
MaMade inin USUSA With overlapping stamps.

Is this common, and would this affect the value of the pen. blink.gif

BTW its a 1946 first quarter production, jewled cap

Man, what a shame... it totally destroys the value of the pen... best send it to someone who does not care what the imprint says.... someone like me... wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif
While not common, I do think in the eyes of some collectors it might bring a premium, just like mis-stamped coins or stamps will... but most likely not at high a premium.

Hi,

Sounds nice. If you ever want to sell it, please tell me. smile.gif

Misstamped pens are always special. I have a misstamped Vector.

Hmmm do I see the Birds of Prey or maybe the Vultures gathering? lticaptd.gif lticaptd.gif

I would think that a "51" collector would pay a premium for a pen like that, best guy to ask would be Ernesto on Parker51.com. I have always found him to be generous with his knowledge about "51"s, if anybody knows he will biggrin.gif
