Hello All,

I have seen a listing on ebay for an Esterbrook pen complete with a " 9284 music double broad oblique" nib.

The three or four lists of Esterbrook nib classifications I have consulted merely describe the 9284 as "signature stub" or "broad stub"

Is this a true rarity or auction hyperbole?

It's auction hyperbole. The 9284 is not particularly flexible, it's not adjusted OOTB for a wet flow, and it's most certainly not a soft-soppy stub as a music nib should be.
