As we don't have a Waterman forum set up yet (ahem) I shall ask this question here.
Someone has come up with a plain gold pen that appears to have a CF nib and a strange over-the-top style of clip completely unlike the usual split Waterman clip.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the heck this is?

Allthough I can't identify the exact model variant of this C/F myself (Directeur Général?), it is a genuine Waterman. They even made a limited remake of this clip on a silver rollerball in the 90s.

I reviewed the Waterman Directeur -- FABULOUS!!! You'll find it in the pen reviews forum. This is one of my all-time favorite Waterman pen models! Lucky You!!!

Hello folks,
It seems that these pens are like London taxi's on a wet night, you don't see one in ages and then two come along at once.
There is a set on e-bay UK at the moment, it was at £18.00 ($32.00' ish, last time I looked), unless of course that is the set that started this thread off in the first place.
C/F pens I like and have a few, but the caps on these don't do anything for me.
However, ' chacun a son goute', or 'each to his own'.

Thanks for directing me to the review, Petra.
It is indeed a Directeur-General - I couldn't really tell from the first poor pictures the chap had posted on Ebay. It is indeed the one that was on ebay - it, the companion ballpoint, and a CF ballpoint companion for each of my silver and gold moire CFs are now on the way across the Atlantic to me.
There is a great picture of the DG in Lambrou. This one has red enamel insets (Petra's has black) and despite the horrid photo, the seller indicates that they are in as new condition, put away by his uncle years ago and not used. We shall see. I look forward to seeing them when they arrive!
Thanks for the info, guys. I was hoping it might be a DG, but hadn't seen one on ebay before - there don't seem to be a lot of them around.
Does anyone know if they take the same converter as the regular CF?

If you're lucky enough to have an original cf converter, it will fit the Directeur General. If you need a converter, Richard Binder has a stash and will sell you one. I've discovered that Waterman brand (and only Waterman brand) short international cartridges will also fit cf pens, with a bit of determined twisting. All other brands I have tried so far are just a teeny tiny bit too wide.

Hi I'm from Dubai, in the UAE
I have two CF pens out here, but no converters and or cartridges and so, unfortunately, I am using one of the pens as a dip style writing instrument from some 15 years?
Is there a way I can get a hold of Richard Binder with the converter stash?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
