I BELIEVE THIS PEN HAS NEVER BEEN USED!!!!!  HAS IT WAS FOUND IN MY LATE AUNT`S DESK.

THIS ESTERBROOK "RELIEF"  FOUNTAIN PEN IS IN RED/GOLD AND BLACK AND IN PRESTINE CONDITION.

IT STILL HAS THE MANUFACTURERS CHALK MARKS ON STATING " RELIEF" -  35/- WHICH IS THE OLD ENGLISH PRICE OF ONE POUND FIFTEEN SHILLINGS OLD MONEY.

THE PEN CLIP HAS A BLACK TOP ABOVE THE GOLD CLIP.  THE CLIP STATES "ESTERBROOK" IN DESCENDING LETTERS.  THE CLIP IS FINISHED WITH A LARGE GOLD BAND.  PLEASE SEE PHOTOS.

THE LOVELY CLEAR NIB READS " ESTERBROOK RELIEF 14CT GOLD"

THE PEN ITSELF HAS THE WORDS "ESTERBROOK MADE IN ENGLAND"  INSCRIBED ON VERY LIGHTLY.

THE BASE OF THE PEN HAS A FURTHER GOLD BAND AND A MATCHING BLACK BASE TO COMPLIMENT THE CLIP.

Anyway, was curious if I'd missed something, or other, and what people thought of it.

Yep, I guess it's technically a Relief, although not exactly what most people would consider one. GF trim, 14kt Relief re-new point, made in the standard 6 colors, but solid, no marbling. Not very common to find them, particularly in this condition with the chalk mark.

I've got one, maybe two of them, I'll have to get some pictures. smile.gif

Steve Hull in his unedited version of the history of Esterbrook in England says: "In 1964 a 14ct Relief model, produced by Esterbrook (and only in the US ?) was added to the M2 range." I guess this is exactly the pen he is refering to. It is nice to see this pen with the chalk marks smile.gif

For more pictures of the same model see this old post: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...?showtopic=8775

AntoniosZ.

PS> You have the green Brian - show up a photo wink.gif

Obviously I'm going to have to read back through the old posts here more thoroughly.

Is Steve Hull's unedited history of Esterbrook readily available?

No, it a short text that he sent me once and said that he wanted to edit before letting it show up on FPN. In the last few months I tried to contact him before posting it but I have not been able to get hold of him.
