Hi, I have had a couple of old fountain pens in a drawer since I was about 8 years old. I have used them like drawing pens by dipping them in ink but now I am wanting to find out more about them. Oen is relevent to this list. It is green tortise with brass clip and ring on cap. It has a gold nib that says "PARKER" but does not have the trademark arrow, just a ball at the end. I will post a pic of it later. My other pen is a wearever. That one actually does work. I am soaking it in windex, well the bladder and nib portion, to clean it.
I am drawn to older things, like my 65 F-100 Ford, My 1940's Imperial typewriter, tools, etc... There is something to be said about the quality of things built before the 70's. Seems to me the idea of quality was lost at some point and the idea of disposable took over. But that should give you all a litte bit of who I am.

Welcome 65 Ford Guy..
I agree with your sentiments. I really have issues with the disposability of things.
I recently had to replace my microwave, which I had for 13 years. I picked one of the new ones up and could not believe how light and flimsy it was. I mentioned it to the salesman and his response was "they make them light because they are disposable" I then asked how long I could expect to get out of this and his response was a couple of years.

Any way, I am not a Ford guy.... but I am a 69 Chevy guy wink.gif

Hi Ford Guy. Welcome to FPN. I'm not too sure about Using Windex as a cleansing agent; I'm sure you'll hear something about that from those more knowledgable than I. This is the place to learn about these wonderful writing tools.

Hi Ford Guy,

Before you soak any more could you post any details you have about the pens.
If you can post pics so much the better.
Some of those old pens don't take too kindly to soaking. If you pop up the info some of the gurus around here can give you excellent advice.

Ok, here are the pictures I promised. I took a few but this one has every part. I do know that it needs a new nib and bladder so I will be in the market for those.
