I found this list today, and after looking it over, realized it would be good to join. My fountain pen use goes back a long way, to a Sheaffer school pen I had in high school, and which I still have. Then my parents gave me a Parker 45 as a graduation present. When I was in grad school I bought an English Parker 61, which I used for a very long time before getting another decent pen. As a result of learning a lot more about fountain pens from the internet, and having wider access to sources (I live in rural area), I acquired and sold a number over the past few years. Apart from my old standbys, my favorite pens now are three vintage Conway Stewarts, an English Parker Demi-Duofold, an Esterbrook J, and a Waterman 52.
I have to write a lot in my work, and using different pens and inks has been a good way to get through "blocks" down through the years. Also, if you hand-write a letter to someone these days, they think you have done something really special and remarkable for them.
I can see there is a mountain of good information on this list, and I look forward to reading it and talking about it.
