Looks like an Imperial II to me. The black patch appears to be an old sticker that's either been marked out or just deteriorated over time. I'd recommend you take a look at Jim's (PenHero) excellent site. The gallery has some great stuff, particularly on Sheaffers. I'd look at the article on Early Imperials for this pen. I'd second southpaw's comment about the sticker, I have an all stainless pen a few years newer than the one that you show and the sticker reads (M) Medium. Imperial II seems reasonable as to identity, someone will wander by who knows for sure. Cheers John
