I came across a brand of pen on the Internet that makes fountain pens that look like old Pelikans -- roundy at the top with the ring clip down a bit from the end. But I forget the name and I can't seem to find it now. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Also, anyone have one of these?

Might you be thinking of the Filcao Silvia, which looks very much like an old Pelikan? I know that Richard Binder has them for sale.
