Full Version: In praise of a very special company

I contacted Jemma Mitchell regarding a nib exchange for my new Churchill Ebonite Fountain Pen and she suggested that I return it by post. In the mean time I looked at the CS website and took a fancy to the Churchill Jarvis collection pen in storm colourway with gold fittings. As my pen was new I posed the question as to the possibilities of exchanging my pen for a Churchill Jarvis pen. Without hesitation she agreed but informed me that the pen was not a stock item and she would have to have one made up for me. There cannot be many companies that can offer such a first rate personal service in this day and age. Imagine ringing Bill Gates up to ask him for some mods on Msoft Office- How very refreshing

Glad you had a good experience with CS. If you do a little searching you'll find the year long multiple pen ( return/ repair/ replacement) experience that I had with the company.

This might give me hope that they have their stuff together and really are thinking about customer service.

But again looking at what the company was, a seller of reasonably priced pens compared to what is is now, vieing with Krone for the most obscenely expensive LEs out there I have to say that the hope of good quality has been tempered by the lack of a good entry level pen. When the 100 is near $600 and they have pens up to $7,000 that goes beyond this mere user's budget.

So for the near future they are off my radar as a pen to purchase
