Just signed up this evening. Graphic designer and illustrator. My penmanship has never been much better than a trainwreck, but really deteriorated after I began using the computer heavily; signing checks was about all the handwriting I've done for the past 15 years or so.
I decided to change that, and bought a Waterman Phileas about two months ago, and am very happy with that decision and choice of pen, and am hoping to develop a nice, flowing hand.

Hello Archer and welcome aboard the FPN. The Phileas is a great pen to start with, and its very easy to fill with good ink, if you use the bottle converter. I own a few of them and really like them a lot.

My wife has a Philias and I think it is a very good pen and very reasonably priced. I gave up on trying to change my handwriting. The way I write has developed its own character over the past fifty some odd years and I doubt that my trying to improve it will do much good. Personally I like the way my writing looks and whats more important others can read it. So if others have no problem reading what you express on paper, why change?

Hello and welcome aboard. The Phileas and it's European counterpart, the Kultur, have many fans here, so you've got a lot of good company. Hope to see you around.
