Interesting looking nib laugh.gif

I like the way it writes judging from the handwriting on the piece of paper smile.gif

It came with other nibs - they're the type that just screw off and on. (Not the earlier models that were like Esties though.) There's an extra broad that has two slits, just like a music nib, and there's a scroll tip (which puts down two lines at once). These old calligraphy pens rock. smile.gif I'll post more pics when I'm able.

need some help from all of you here who use Osmiroids... I have a very worn sketch nib which is still holding up , but the syringe pump is gonna break soon....

anyone of you tried fitting a convertor ? what convertor would that be? TIA

is it true that Osmiroid has stopped manufacturing?
Dillo
Hi,

The standard Pelikan converter should fit.

I think Osmiroid has been gone for five or ten years - correct me if I'm wrong.
Leigh R
Do NOT convert them to eyedroppers, they won't... wallbash.gif wallbash.gif Spilled ink all over my bag, I did...

Great Osmiroid!
I got one as a gift- ("Have I told you that I'm interested in fountain pens?")
I love the flexiness and the utility of it.

Hi,

Visited my fave pen shop here and the proprietor was kind enough to run thru almost his entire range of convertors and try them for fit .... and alas but no ....not one could fit .... sigh ...! Any suggestions ?

The Pelikan couldn't fit too ...

How about converting a cartridge to a sac fill? There are a few posts on that.

Found a solution today ! And I am so happy ... cloud9.gif

I bought a "Manuscript" Pen Cap and Barrel with Ink Convertor.

The Ink Convertor fits the Osmiroid sketch nib perfectly. The ink convertor is a very simple (primitive looking) plunger type.

NO other convertors fit ! Not Pelikan / Rotring / Sailor / Faber Castell .... nope none fits....

The Manuscript barrel and cap does not fit the Osmiroid cap nor barrel. Different size.

Anyway, I am so happy... I can see many more years of use with the Osmiroid sketch nib. An excellent nib designed to take India ink or Higgins waterproof ink .... Thats the value of this Osmiroid sketchpen.

Use some caution mounting the Manuscript converter-- they're somewhat brittle. I've a box of Osmiroid cartridges, slightly gummy now, bought during the 1980s and they're indistinguishable from International Short cartridges-- worst comes to worst, you can always refill old carts. I'm finding my Sketch point is rather better at Copperplate writing than my Copperplate point....
