Gday all,

I'm new to Pels but have been using a 400NN in rotation for a while now.

First week Pel Brilliant Brown
Second week Quink Blue
Third week Quink Blue-Black,
Now Quink Black

The nib is a EF and boy does it write differently with different inks, even the Quinks are very different.

The blue is a dry writer (a real EF) and the black is wet (more like a F). The blue black is much like the black. I really like the black but look forward to trying other brands and colours.

I've always used Quink and Pelikan but would like to hear views about inks that work (and don't) with older Pelikan nibs.

Cheers,

Will

You might want to try the 2006 version of Noodlers Eel Blue. I have a rather poor M60X "EF" and it brings it up to mediocre. It is a unusual ink, very slippery, greater than normal tendency to print though or feather, and slower than average drying.

I tried Pelıkan black, Sheaffer jet black and blue with my M140 (F nib). Pelikan performed the best, with Sheaffer skrips that pen frequently skips on upstrokes.
