Hi guys

I am considering a Monteverde Invincia FB in the black & white (mother of pearl) finish. The look of the pen draws me in and says *buy me laugh.gif

I have never used a Monteverde before ..... can any one offer any advice in terms of nib performance etc. I cant stand scratchy nibs, the line has to be wet and smooth.

They seem pretty good value for money so if any one can offer pros and cons I would be grateful before I make a decision to part with my hard earned wink.gif

I've tried these out last year in Brisbane. Very nicely balanced in my hand, and very attractive. I was lusting after the Rose Gold one.

The only downfall for me was that the Invincia only has the one nib size - Medium. My handwriting is tiny, so sadly, a Medium line is simply far too thick. Of the two I tested, the nibs were very smooth. They are steel nibs, and very nicely made.

Duke pens are excellent value for money as well - I have four. They too have extremely smooth nibs, and are a delight to use. There is something very satisfying knowing the cheapest pens you own can perform every bit as well as the most expensive.

I hope you enjoy the Invincia if you decide to get it! smile.gif

Monteverde nibs are stiff, but generally smooth. Decent pens for the money, but my only dislike about the Invincia is that it's too heavy for prolonged writing. Oh, the nibs on the Invincia are easily removable so don't be alarmed if you get one and the nib and feed are not properly aligned.

I own a Invincia. At the store it wrote nicely as it was dipped. I like pens a little on the heavy side but the price seemed right. Once I brought it home and inked it using cartridge the nib skipped A LOT!!!! After trying several things I called the company, YAFA, and they sent me a new nib. When I received the new nib I compared it with the old one and noticed the the old nib was not aligned properly with the feed. I am not sure if this was causing the problem. The company told me that if the problem persisted they would replace the nib again until the problem is solved. So I think that is good customer care and support. Now, I use it frequently, the nib is smooth and flows well. I use PR Midnight Blue. Hope this helps. They are good pens for the money. But you should make that decision. If you do, enjoy your new Invincia.
