I just received a new Conway Stewart Dandy. It appears to have a flow problem. I posted a link at the Repair forum, and don't want to cross post. Just wondering if there were an easy fix before I either send it back to Conway Stewart, or a pen-guy to adjust professionally...

Fix for ink flow problem?
Richard
I'm a Conway Stewart retailer, and I can fix it for you, but not for free. Send it back to Conway Stewart. They'll fix it free.

HDoug,

You might also want to try adding just a touch of liquid dish soap to your bottle of ink. I did this with a toothpick by putting just a drop of Dawn on the end and then mixing this small amount into the bottle of ink. It seemed to solve several of my flow problems with various pens.

First, I rinsed it out with some soapy (Dawn) water then rinsed thoroughly with water. Then I adjusted the tines as described near the end of this article:

fjf suggested this in a reply to my query at the Repair topic.

Just wanted to say that my Conway Stewart is now writing fine! I won't have to send it in for adjustment!
