Where would I go to find a seller of Dani Trio pens? I'm looking for one of the non-maki ones; none of the websites I've visited seem to have them (well, not the ones I'm looking for).

If you're talking about the raw ebonite FPs, then winedoc's your man.

I vote also for Winedoc. He was very helpful and responsive when I had a slight problem with a Dani Densho.

winedoc.

Hands down, no question.

Haven't bought one from him yet (I'm working on it!), but we've emailed back and forth.

He's the nicest guy to pester with your pen questions and he'll make you a great deal.

Are you looking for any of these per se:

left to right: Genkai ED, Flat top Mikado ED, Round top clipless Mikado ED, round top Mikado ED, Densho ED, Octagon protoytpe c/c, Takumi c/c and Hanryo c/c

Please feel free to PM me or Email me if you are looking for something else.

Best,

Kevin

This post peaked my interest in them. Are the cheaper models with the 18k nib the same nib that is used on the more expensive models. Though it looks like it is only available in medium. I'm just thinking about a potential next pen.

All raw ebonite pens will have 18kt nibs that are the same as the more expensive urushi and maki-e pens. The Hanryo is smaller, so has a smaller 18kt nib.

When I wrote that post, I was looking at something like the cum laude, alpha plus, and smooth buffalo horn. After looking at several posts and reviews, I like the ebonite, particularly the flexy fine/extrafine nibs. The nib selection will likely determine which pen I buy.

Thanks
