Don't know why, but my loved Pelikan 200 doesn't write straight of the mark, there is a split second of hesitation before the pen starts to flow with thick bold and wet blue-black ink. I cleaned and flushed the pen, but, alas, my demise continues :
BTW, I love that pen
Any suggestions?

First suggestion is to contact Chartpak. Assuming that you're the original owner, they will make it right. Kendra is very good.

Nothing that I can do myself?

Nothing you can do yourself unless you're an experienced nib technician. The task at hand is to analyze the fault and then do what's needed to correct it. Unless you know what to look for and how to look for it, you can't find and fix the real problem.
Sorry...

Have you changed brands of ink? Also, I sometimes have this problem if I'm not holding the nib perfectly flat as I'm writing. You've probably thought of these thing already.

I've had the same problem with Pel nibs before, and the ink wasn't the issue at all. I went for the exchange.
