Any thoughts on the Omas Ogiva? How about other suggestions for a piston filler with a gold nib up to about $200?
Thanks

You may want to check out the Bexley Sheherazade. IIRC, another FPN user named Memphislawyer has one on sale here for a really good price. It's a great pen, piston filled and it's under $200.
I've had a few Omas Ogivas and each one left me dissatisfied. But others really like them, so YMMV.

I have purchased three Ogivas. All wrote smoothly and worked great right out of the box. The nibs were a bit stiffer than the nibs on my Paragons, but the Ogiva is significantly cheaper than the paragon. In the end, I sold the Ogivas and bought one of the new large Paragons. IMO, the Ogiva is worth a try. JC

I own 2 Ogivas, one Vision GT and a Black HT and they are fantastic pens for the money!!! They are a nice large sized pen but not an oversized pen and the piston holds a good amount of ink. It is a lot of pen for the money and you can get them brand new off of ebay for under 130.00
They are well worth the price!!!

Great pen! My Ogiva is my favorite pen. I use it for journaling pretty much every day. Large, but not oversize, very light, very smooth nib and good ink capacity.

I too have an Ogiva vision - well worth it IMO.
Also, you may consider the Lamy 2000 - it's got a gold nib and is also a piston filler. I have both pens and you can't go wrong either way.

The Ogiva is a lovely pen. It's the cheapest Omas and a good deal in my opinion. It's light, quite surprisingly so, and the nib is typically Omas: delightfully smooth and easy to write with. I recommend it without hesitation.

The most popular choice here would be an M600 or one of the Pelikan city series, usually available for just under $200. My best writing (and most expensive) pen is a red striped M600, from Pam Braun for about $170. I love the look of the one with a solid blue barrel and silver trim, too.
If you step up in size, an M800 can be had for $220 or so, and I'm sure cheaper used.

For the money, eventhough I am a Pelikan maniac, for 130.00 brand new, the Ogiva is a much better choice IMHO if you want a high capacity piston filler, larger nib and an all around larger pen. I find this to be one of my favorite pens that OMAS puts out eventhough I love the Fullsize 360 and the fullsize paragon. The Ogiva is a tad larger than the old style Paragon and the Ogiva is much larger posted than the paragon.
Regardless, both the pelikan and OMAS pens are high quality but if you want a larger pen that a M600 cannot provide, then consider the Ogiva. I am comparing my Ogiva to my MB 149 and they are equal in length but the diameter on the Ogiva is that of a 146.
