Found this while out FP hunting. It has a Warranted 14K #3 nib. The pattern is perfect and no cracks. I thinks it is a BCHR pen as it has a funky "rubber" smell to it. 5 3/16" capped and 4 3/4" w/o the cap. Looks like 3/8" wide at the barrel. Came w/ a Sheaffers "Self Filling Fountain Pen" box ( fair cond.) and the instruction sheet that goes w/ the box ( good cond.) I know the pen isn't a Sheaffers but does anyone have any info. on these pens??

BTW: Paid $9.75 for it. biggrin.gif

This is an incredible find and at an incredible price too. Yes Sir, you are a sumgai on this one. How does the nib feel? Does it require any repair? I can't make out from the picture if the cap has a clip. Is it sans clip? Any chance of a closeup on the nib inscription? What does it say? What about other markings?

inky, I have posted at Zoss and they think it may be a Sheaffer but what makes you think it isn't? Are there any other clues like worn out imprints. If you can give a close up of the feed, it will reveal more about the pen. The feeling is, the nib could be a replacement but it shouldn't be difficult for you to get a proper nib for it. BTW, don't get all exited yet. The identification isn't positively sure at the moment. It could also be a no-name pen huh.gif

It does say CRAIG on the barrel and I thought it was an owners name! From the replies on PT I see it could be a "Craig" which was a sub-brand of Sheaffer's. There is no clip and the nib is marked: Warranted 14K #3. One tine on the nib was chiped and of course it needed a new sac. Other than that the chasing is perfect. The nib has a slight flex to it too.

There is none of the usual Patent info like you normally see on a pen. It just has CRAIG impressed in a rectangular area on the barrel. Unfortunately, my camera won't do a good enough close-up.

i'm jealous.

or is envious the better word.

whatever - ya did good, IMO. Especially for that price and it looks like it's in such good condition!

I have had and still own a couple of the BCHR Craig pens, There is no imprinting other than the Craig. All of mine are ringtops but are fantastic writers to be sure. I even gave my fdaughter one for her 8th Birthday this past month. She loves it.
