the one line of Prussian Blue was a mistake - since my lighting was so uneven, it looks green and this ink has very little green to it at all.

Got all three of those inks - and they're all great! Thanks for the reviews. Although I must admit to being a bit confused - they look much better in your handwriting than in mine for some reason. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Agreed on that awesome shading! Out of a wet nib, it beats any other ink I've seen. I really, really like it!

It's delightful to see reviews of limited-edition and discontinued colors smile.gif .
How does Diamine Tropical Blue compare to Namiki/Pilot Blue?

Tropical Blue is little bit lighter, less concentrated and substantially shifted toward turquoise in comparison with Namiki Blue.

i have found, thus far, that all the Diamine inks I have tried shade nicely. Some might prefer a solid, unvarying line but I have grown rather bored with heavy colors of late and am enjoying the shading and subtlety of less-saturated inks.

I do not have all of these but these are the ones i've tried:
Presidential Blue
Tropical Blue
Prussian Blue
Emerald
Claret (not *as much* shading)
Sepia (love this ink!)
Umber
Woodland green.

as you might see, I'm quickly becoming a Diamine fan.

KCat, you absolutely must try royal blue. I admit to being a little crazy about it -- I think it's the prettiest blue I've ever seen. It's a little darker than tropical blue.

I wonder -- is the new Mediterranean blue actually a renamed tropical blue?

yeah - i can't tell obviously from what's on the screen. could be.

I'm not usually "into" blues - yet somehow I'm accumulating them.

Some of those new colors do look fun.
