These are prototypes at the moment, but I think these will all go into regular production. I think they are fabulous. They send these to me for my opinion, and I think they are just fantastic, and the best part, is the retail price most likely will be bellow Namiki's new solid urushi Yukari Royale. I put these here because I am still waiting to hear back from Danitrio to give me permission to sell these. Until then, these belongs in here. Enjoy the pics.

The presentation box made of red lacquer

Inside the posh box you find the pen, Kimono wrap, eyedropper and paper

This one is teal green

Purple

Dark Tamenuri with section purposely made lighter to give contrast

Dark Green

Black

and Red

Enjoy,

I volunteer!

If they would like to send them to me for MY opinion I'd be most pleased to offer one. Meanwhile, here is an opinion to prove I'm capable and responsible...

W O W!

Hi Andy,

I know what you mean. I have been looking at them all night... well, in between posts anyway. laugh.gif

Best,

That red one is stunning. But I can't help thinking about just how huge those pens are. How much to put red urushi on a traffic pylon and stick a nib on the end? smile.gif

I am so totally in drool land. I can hardly make myself write with anything other than my Danitrio. I suppose all of these are really big too? I'm afraid to try anything larger than my Hanryo. I would buy 10 more if I could because I want to use different inks in it but I like the alt-bordeaux so much, I haven't been able to. But then I would have a bunch of black pens that look exactly alike. I want one with every nib. You have ruined me. I want one of these. How big is the Genkai?

Hey, you are local. Why not come to our next PPPC meet at Fairfield and you will have plenty of time to see these up close and I'll have a few inked for you to try to your heart's content. Best part, no sales pitch, no pressure to buy... well, I don't think I need to, as these pens speak for themselves. laugh.gif laugh.gif

We meet last Sat. of June. Coming?

My goodness, I did not see these!!! Those are fantastic looking. Those of you who have never seen a Genkai in person cannot fully appreciate the size of this pen!!! IF you think the Mikado is big, you aint seen nutin until you see the king daddy of pens, the Genkai!!! The Dark Tamenuri is on my lust list!!!! I wanted a Mikado in red Tamenuri but after seeing the Genkai in Dark Tamenuri, my mind has been made!!!

Great Photos and Great looking Pens, Kev!!!

Oh my goodness. ohmy.gif What fabulous pens. The tipping point (erm no pun intended ... the pics have addled my brain) gets ever closer for me to take the plunge into chateau-bottled, full-fat urushi.

Are these available with a fine semi-flex nib?

(Have my eye on that Dark Tamenuri with lightened section.) blink.gif

Absolutely nothing wrong with a touch of minimalism! wink.gif What do these pens cost?

"Oooooooo Noooooooooo! " That was my bank account screaming! The Hanryo is a great size for me. I don't think I could go bigger...now if they make them clipless to boot, it all over for me biggrin.gif

we're on the same wavelength again, Kelly.

Clipless would definitely be cool, but I really want to see an ED Hanryo. That would be the ultimate day-to-day pen.

yup - I was sorely disappointed when it turned out they'd used metal fittings. sad.gif I know there's a work-around but I really was thrilled with the idea of a relatively inexpensive HR ED from DT. smile.gif It was the major reason I was ready to plunk down the cash.

The red one is WOW. I like the box too! But I can't see myself writing with it, the barrel seems too big for me... Or is it an illusion?
