My wife's favorite pen.

Lovely pictures, Tim. I have the MOP stained glass - one of my favorite pens with a Binder .6mm stub - great writer and beautifully made pen! Thanks for sharing those picts - the Harmony was a close one for me as well smile.gif

Beautiful pen, how does it write?, is it nice?

best regards

Beautyful pics Tim... I can see you have worked quite a lot with background, and this is a lot of fun. Lighting and pen makes the rest. Congrats!

I don't really use it. It is my wife's pen, which she uses a lot based on how often I have to refill it. It is her favorite pen. I do know it writes really well because we got it from Richard Binder at the Ohio show; everything from him writes well.

Those are wonderful looking pens. I met the Lady who runs the company at the LA Pen show and she allowed me to dip and use a few of the Harmony FPs. I love the Mother of Pearl and Abalone designs that they use. Really a nice stout pen!!!

is that a faceted pen or is the mop covered in something and turned round? I saw a website where they explained the work involved in making one of those typepens but never found it again. nice pen by the way

Thanks. The MOP and abalone pieces are in rows, but the pen is turned to be round and does not have flat rows on the sides. Here are a couple of more pictures that may help show the cylindrical nature of the cap and barrel.

There are more and larger pictures here.

very nice, thanks. I am toying with the idea of making one like that but the shells are hard to come by. mostly just veneer available

These are a veneer of sorts, though thick enough to radius without blowing out the edges. The pieces are not visible from inside of the cap or barrel. You may be able to do some experimentation with shells from a local hobby/craft shop. That is where my image background pieces came from.
