Hi, I just bought a Pelikan Souveran 605 from Swisher Pens and it seems the cap isn't very secure when I post it. Is this just a trait of the Souveran's or is this a quality control issue? I noticed if I tighten the piston down the cap is more secure.

The only other pen I've used recently is a Lamy Studio and the cap feels nice and secure when posted. Perhaps my observation with the Souveran is due to my experience with the Studio.

Any opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

My experience with Souveräns is that they post just fine. (I'm a Pelikan retailer, so I do see one or two now and then. smile.gif ) Try posting the M605's cap more firmly. It's resin, and it has a metal cap-lip band to prevent splitting.

Richard, well I can use more force to post, but there's an internal stop in the cap that prevents excessive insertion. In your experience is there a stop that prevent the cap from over posting?

And I'll also confirm as a user that the cap is very secure. As a matter of fact, just this morning I noticed that it took quite a pull to extract the cap off the end of my 605--I was concerned that it might have scratched but it was fine.

I can confirm that my 605 also posts very snuggly, with no problem. There does seem to be an internal stop in the cap, but by the time the barrel reaches that point, it is very snug and takes a medium pull to get it off. It sounds as if yours is not up to standard.
