A sweet Wahl Gold Filled Ring Top in fantastic shape.....
I normally don't like little pens, but this one is cute.... I got it with another pen on eBay.
Here are the specs:
3 9/16" capped
5" Posted
3/8"+ diameter at cap.
Just under the ring on the smooth area of the cap is marked:
WAHL PEN
Gold Filled Made in U.S.A
There is a nice area for engraving on the barrel.
The engraving design is 11 lines with spaced chevrons running toward the top then a wide space and repeated around the pen. The engraving is still sharp and crisp and I can see no brassing, just a bit of rub where the cap comes over the barrel.

I am pretty sure the nib is not right.... I was expecting a rather flexi nib on this pen. The nib is marked Eversharp and is stiff... no flex what so ever. But I could be wrong because it looks like it fits the feed perfectly.
Well anyway here are the pictures...

I have the full size version (with gold section) in Chevron pattern (circa. 1925). It's a "Wahl" nib, and is an absolute, total, incredible WET NOODLE! I don't think a 20's Wahl gf would have an eversharp nib, let alone a nail. I also have a Waterman gold overlay ringtop from that era, also veeeeery flexy (not so much as the Wahl, though). These are cool to own. My Wahl actually came with the original box, which is in incredible shape (the pen is near mint). Paid through the nose from FPH for it, but worth it. Maybe you could get a proper nib from John Mottishaw? Even a #2 warranted flex nib?

I remember having a similar pen with a "later" nib like this.
It is now with a good friend from the Netherlands who said that after getting this pen he was going to sell all his others pens because this was the best pen ever smile.gif.
Why did I let it go, why? unsure.gif
