I have not been pleased with my new digital camera as it has no good macro capability by itself.

By utilizing my hand magnifier with the 5x inset I got this...

The brilliant idea came from Antonios who said something about shooting pics through his loupe...

kewl. I've done that with a magnifying desk lamp.

Cool effect!
Love those Triumph nibs....

Just like close-up lenses. Wonder when someone will start making them for the digitals...

Great job Keith.

Gerry - There are digital camera's that will do some great close up work but they are beyond the means of many and often, the picture quality still isn't as good as one would like.

My camera is a Kodak 6200 2.0 MP which takes good general shots but has no macro capability.

I prefer to borrow my friends older Sony Mavica that, despite it's paltry 1.3 MP capability, takes excellent macro shots due to the high quality lenses, most close up shots I have taken have been with this camera.

I do think that if you could find a Mavica it would not cost a great deal since they have been discontinued for some time. They also use floppy disks for storage which is pretty convenient and relatively cheap.

Hi Gerry,

Close-up lenses for digital cameras are readily available. Of cours, you do need a digital camera that can take accessories like filters or so. My Canon G5 does, and (cheap) close-up lenses are available. I happen to have one, still unused - soon, soon biggrin.gif.

I think many Sonys take these type of accessories as well, as do Nikons, I don't really know about other cameras.

HTH,
Kind regards,
Wim
