OK, I know many of you already know this, but I recently bought a NOS 2134M [edit: should be 2314] nib and put it into one of my Esterbrooks. Wow! What a fantastic nib! I was surprised at how nice it was. I am very impressed.

BTW, how long can you write with one of these before the performance starts to degrade from wear? I would guess that you could write with it every day for many years before that happens?

Thanks.

Ron

PS If we were supposed to keep this nib's performance secret, I apologize for discussing it on an open forum.

Hi Ron,

There's no secrets here. Please let us know how you do feel about a nib - it's all useful info for the group.

I think you may have transposed a couple of numbers, as I can't find a reference to a 2134M Esterbrook nib - did you perhaps mean a 2314M?

These nibs, although not having an iridium tip, should give years of satisfactory performance before requiring replacement.

Regards,

Gerry

Indeed a very cool nib as is the 9314M - pretty incredbiel line variation adn I just love that they're so easy to switch back and forth - enjoy!

Opps, I did mean 2314 M. Thanks for the correction, Gerry.

I was trying to make a joke about keeping it a secret. Not a very successful attempt, I'm afraid. I actually learned about it originally from one of Brian's posts in the archives.

Thanks, Kelly, I am enjoying it.

Brian, so I shouldn't say anything about those x284 nibs that you also liked?
